Le Vigne di Clementina Fabi has its origin in the little area of Montedinove (AP), in the Marche region, central Italy, at the end of the 19th century, when the Fabi family buys here some land. Valorizing the historical and native varieties, like Pecorino and Passerina, has been, for the Fabi family, a deeply felt duty and an act of respect towards the vine-growing area of Montedinove. Their philosophy is a simple one: respect for nature. All their production is certified Organic and the use of any type of chemical is banned.

Passerina

The name Passerina (meaning little bird in Italian) may refer to the local sparrows, who apper to have an appetite for the ripe Passerina berries. Also known as “Pagadebit” (debt-payer) a name given to several high-yielding Italian grape varieties, is one of the appreciated white wines in the whole Adriatic area, an ancient grape variety from which you get a very clean and fresh wine. Not very structured as Verdicchio or Pecorino, but fragrant, defined by delicious floral and fruity suggestions. Don’t expect a strong, decisive, dense wine, rather a harmonious and graceful symphony. When it comes to Passerina, the watchword is elegance.
The best examples of Passerina are from the Marche region in central Italy, and specifically those of the DOCG Offida, where the influence of the sea adds further saltiness and pleasantness.
It wont be the noblest or most complex of wines, but it is a very pleasant wine, perfect as an aperitif, for finger food or as a wine suitable for any occasion. Uncork a well frozen bottle of Passerina and serve it with seafood and you will love it!
