Italian Red Wine

Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2004 – Biondi Santi

This Riserva is a delicate exercise of grace, with structure, fruit and acidity dancing harmoniously on a thin line, suspended in time.
It’s intensely flavoured with sour cherries and violets on the forefront, followed by hints of oriental spices, tar, liquorice and, in the end, flint. On the palate it is precise and expressive, showing class and energy in a tasting experience which goes on and on, ending on a deliciously savoury note.

Spanish Red Wine

Tempranillo Red Rioja Iselen 2020 – Bodegas D.Mateos

Ruby red brilliant colour, medium-high cloak. Intense aroma of red fruits (strawberry and raspberry) and liquorice, over a dairy background and a slight balsamic touch, finishing with a toasting end. Silky smooth wine with predominance of the ripe fruits, persisting in the aftertaste thanks to the fine toasted touches from the well integrated oak background.

The Wine Advocate said: ” I find the 2016 Brunello vintage very elegant, fine and expressive. An exceptional vintage.”

Casato Prime Donne is the first Italian winery staffed entirely by women and has reached International success thanks to the quality of its Brunello di Montalcino. The nose opens to delicate flowers and violets with wild cherry and a hint of eucalyptus. It is elegant and clean, offering ripe Marasca cherry, licorice and dried mint framed in well balanced tannins. After the fantastic 2015 vintage 2016 is even better. Drink through 2035.
