Croatina DOC Firangiuli 2016 – Boveri Giacomo

From a historically excellent site known for producing the best Croatina in the region. The nose on this wine  is elegant and complex, with fruity aromas of baked apples, cherries, plum and delicate notes of sweet spices. On the palate the wine is full-bodied with subtle, nicely balanced acidity.

Langhe Dolcetto DOC 2019 – Poderi Cellario

On the nose come notes of white pepper and rose with hints of brambly red fruits. On the palate the wine is remarkably fresh yet grippy, with firm silky tannins. The flavors that come through again are herbal and fruity, with notes of wild raspberry, ripe cranberry, and both white and black pepper. This is An ‘old-style’ Dolcetto,  the vinification process is the ancient “foot crusching” technique that the grandfathers used to do: half of the grapes are pressed, while the other half are only destemmed. This allows  to intensify the perfumes of Dolcetto and  achieve a fresh and fragrant wine, with delicate tannins.

Did you know:  Dolcetto literally means “the little sweet one”, but while the wine made with Dolcetto grapes are usually dry, the grapes are quite sweet and naturally low in acidity. Italy’s first President, Luigi Enaudi, loved it so much that planted thousands of Dolcetto vines in his estate in Piemonte.

Langhe Nebbiolo DOC Arenos 2018 – Poderi Cellario

A very elegant wine with rose scent, vanilla and peppery notes. On the palate, the tannins are well balanced and flavours are persistent. Aged 12 months in Slovenian oak and a further 6 months in bottle.

Did you know: Nebbiolo is considered Italy’s greatest native grape variety. Nebbiolo wines are extremely ageworthy and some of the top quality red wines in the world.

Gattinara DOCG Il Putto 2015 – Cantina Delsignore

Intense aromas of herbs and liquorice, red cherry, spices and dried flowers. It’s medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a chalky mineral on the finish.

Did you know:  in the “Gattinara” area in Piemonte, the Nebbiolo grape is known as “Spanna”. This area, was granted DOCG status in 1990 and is considered to be one of the best areas to grow Nebbiolo, alongside Barolo and Barbaresco. Better open the wine 2 hours before you drink it.

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2015 – Cinelli Colombini

Casato Prime Donne is the first Italian winery staffed entirely by women and has reached International success thanks to the quality of its Brunello. The nose opens to delicate flowers and violets with wild cherry and a hint of eucalyptus. It’s elegant and clean, offering ripe Marasca cherry, licorice and dried mint framed in well balanced tannins. The 2015 vintage is an historical year for Brunello and nobody should miss it.

Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2012 – Cinelli Colombini

In the Brunello territory the 2012 vintage is considered a top year with 5 stars,  and this wine really is something special.  The nose shows a round, complex and persistent aromas,  rich in spices with hints of vanilla and nuances of ripe berries. Elegant and harmonious palate with good tannins and long finish.

Timorasso Petit Derthona 2022 – Boveri Giacomo

A rare gem from Piemonte, in north west Italy. Intense on the nose with notes of lemon, mint, and elderberry. On the palate it’s medium-bodied, with citrus and white flower flavours, and a lovely mineral finish. Drink one of the only 3000 bottles produced in total!

Erbaluce di Caluso DOCG Rapa Raira 2018 – Santa Clelia

Clean and crisp, with white flowers, green apple and light citrus notes. Great acidity and a lingering finish.

Did you know: Erbaluce is yet another great native variety from the Piemonte region.  First documented in 1606, it is also often used for the production o sweet wines, in a Passito style. The small town of Caluso is widely considered to be “Cru” for this variety.

Arneis Roero is a traditional white wine from the Roero area in Piemonte, Italy. This wine showcases a diverse range of aromas, including notes of citrus and banana, as well as delicate white flowers like Acacia and white peach. On the palate, it is characterised by its crispness and cleanliness, offering a refreshing and enjoyable drinking experience.
