It displays an intense and deep ruby red color, with aromas of red fruits, floral notes, aromatic herbs, and the Mediterranean scrub on the nose. Vibrant on the palate, it features crisp tannins and a savoury persistence. An elegant wine of great pleasure. Ideal when paired with game dishes or hearty red meats.

Sangiovese Resultum 2013 – Umberto Cesari

This wine is iconic of the winery’s sustainability approach. Resultum, from the Latin verb ”resilire”, is a tribute to the natural ability of the Estate vineyards to adapt to the marked climate changes occurring in recent years. A red wine styled for lengthy cellaring, with the Sangiovese grapes grown in vineyards averaging 20 years old and yielding 6.5 tonnes of grapes per hectare. After meticulous quality-selection of the berries, the must ferments in temperature-controlled, fibreglass-lined concrete vats, with a successive maceration on the skins of 25-30 days. It matures a number of months in the same vats, then ages in the bottle for an additional 12 months.

Sangiovese Tauleto 2015 – Umberto Cesari

Tauleto is a dialect term applied by local farmers to a plot with abundant water resources. The springs running under the Sangiovese in the Tauleto vineyard contribute to minimising water stress in the vines. To make Tauleto, Umberto Cesari recovered the Uva Longanesi, a nearly-forgotten native grape.
A red wine of superb structure and longevity made only in the finest growing years. 90% Sangiovese, 10% Uva Longanesi. The vineyards average 20 years old and yield 65 quintals per hectare. It matures 24 months in 225-litre new Allier oak barrels then ages in the bottle a further 6 months.
Intense ruby red with purple highlights. The bouquet is rich and complex, wild red berry, ripe black cherry, with nuances of rose petals and spice.
On the palate is elegant, with succulent, pulpy red fleshed fruit, pipe tobacco, and pencil lead. Tannins are noticeable, but supple. The finish is lengthy and intense.

Orcia DOC Cenerentola 2016 – Cinelli Colombini

The Orcia Cenerentola is indeed a “Cinderella” in this group of wines from the up-and-coming Orcia appellation in Tuscany. The wine is made with Sangiovese blended with the little-known Foglia Tonda grape that was almost completely abandoned. Less than 20 hectares of Foglia Tonda exist in southern Tuscany today. A rich and intense character with plenty of berry, plum and dark chocolate aromas. Full body, velvety tannins and a vibrant and balanced finish.
