Assyrtiko from Jim Barry Wines is the first Australian Assyrtiko, a native grape variety from the island of Santorini in Greece. This wine opens with citrus rind, lemon blossom and a lick of wet slate on the nose. Clean, mineral, white floral and nice texture with the classic saline edge to finish.

First released in 2004 by Jim Barry Wines, the ‘Florita Riesling’ is a micro-batch Riesling made from meticulously hand-selected grapes from individual rows. Named after the Spanish term for ‘little flower,’ it is an intense and powerful wine sourced from an exceptional vintage in the Clare Valley. The aromas are dominated by stone, mineral, and white floral notes, which seamlessly transition into the enticing flavours of white peach and citrus. The palate reflects the aromatic profile with intensified floral and citrus juice flavours, culminating in a long and concentrated finish.

Shiraz Watervale 2016 – Jim Barry Wines

This small-batch project allows winemakers to create unique, vintage-specific wines that highlight the best fruit from vineyards owned by the Barry family. The Jim Barry Single Vineyard Shiraz was selected from the Watervale vineyard and matured in French oak. This wine shows great elegance with aromas of rich, berried fruits surround a core of classic Clare Valley spice and eucalyptus. On the palate it shows great structure and length with balanced tannins.

Cabernet Sauvignon Kiribilli 2016 – Jim Barry Wines

Jim Barry Cabernet Sauvignon is an elegant wine with floral aromas complimented by savoury earth, mint and tobacco notes. Vibrant cassis and red berry fruit are in abundance. On the palate the wine has a very fine structure. It is well balanced with fine, grainy tannins well integrated, providing the framework for the wine to develop for many years.

Matured in French oak for 12 months the McRae Wood Shiraz shows intense aromas of blackberry, blueberry fruits and perfumed violets, with spicy and balsamic notes. The palate is rich and deep with dark forest-fruits, earthy flavours. A fine wine with the potential to age gracefully for 20 years.

Riesling McKay’s 2021 – Jim Barry Wines

The McKays is an iconic Riesling from Australia. It displays enticing notes of orange blossom, grapefruit, lemon tart, and citrus aromas. The well-balanced palate showcases limey fruit flavours supported by zingy acidity, which will develop further depth and complexity with aging. This wine is an excellent match for spicy Asian cuisine, such as Mongolian Lamb.

Syrah Toscana DOC Marujo 2017 – Tenuta Casteani

Marujo undergoes aging in amphora with a prolonged maceration process. The amphora provides excellent conditions for the wine’s evolution, allowing the peculiar characteristics of the variety to shine through.
The wine displays a deep and brilliant ruby red color. It boasts a wonderful olfactory complexity ranging from red fruits to black pepper, leather, and floral violet notes. On the palate, it offers a broad and enveloping sensation with a long finish, supported by excellent acidity. The tannins are pleasantly silky. It pairs ideally with roasted or grilled meats, game, and aged cheeses.

Syrah Opimiam IGT Lazio 2019 – Cantina Gaffino

Lazio and Syrah are a promising combination, and we are seeing more of it with each successive vintage. Much of it comes from volcanic soils which is the case here. The Cantina Gaffino 2019 Syrah Opimiam is dark and rich with thick layers of blackberry, dried plum, spice, leather and tobacco. You get depth and softness backed by plenty of texture and density. This is a full-bodied wine with a midnight black appearance to pair next to grilled or stewed game meats. Production is just 6,700 bottles.

Syrah Les Amants Naissants 2018 – LSDA

A deep purple colour, it offers a rich and powerful aromatic intensity, notes of wild raspberry fruits, blackcurrants, peppery and slightly vanilla spices. The mouth is voluptuous and dense, fresh attack, the tannins are tight and silky, we find these notes of black fruits and spices, and a long finish on vanilla notes.
