Toscana Rosso DA-DI IGT 2021 – Avignonesi
£38.60
The nose is intense and captivating, with precise and varietal aromas.
Aged for 90 days in terracotta amphorae, this wine offers a unique expression of pure Sangiovese.
Notes of cherry, ripe raspberries, and redcurrant intertwine with delicate hints of wild strawberry and rose essence. On the palate, it is viscous, dense, vibrant, and explosive.
Red fruits such as marasca cherry and black cherry caress the taste buds, accompanied by floral undertones. The firm yet refined tannins spread across the lips, embodying the true and tenacious character of Tuscan Sangiovese.
The finish is the perfect balance between freshness and sweetness, a combination only possible with terracotta-aged wine.

Toscana Rosso DA-DI 2021, Why We Love It And Why You Will Too
The Toscana Rosso DA-DI 2021 is an Ode to Tuscan Winemaking. At Avignonesi, the pursuit of excellence goes hand in hand with innovation in 100% Tuscan winemaking traditions. The goal is to allow the terroir to shine, free from external influences.
For this particular wine, Avignonesi set aside steel and oak in favour of pure Tuscan clay amphorae. This unique aging method enhances the authenticity and purity of the Sangiovese grape.
DA-DI is vinified in 13 handcrafted terracotta vessels, all made in Tuscany. Eight amphorae were crafted by Artenova in Impruneta, while five were produced by Laboratorio San Rocco in Torrita di Siena, using Monte Amiata clay.
This careful selection of Tuscan terracotta enhances the purity and vibrancy of Sangiovese, ensuring a unique and authentic expression of the terroir. It can’t get anymore “Toscano” than this!
Vintage 2021
The 2021 Vintage it was a year of challenges and resilience. The early spring of 2021 brought higher-than-average temperatures, leading to early bud break. However, an unexpected winter-like episode in April resulted in frost, causing significant yield losses. Fortunately, the quality remained unaffected.
A mild summer with cool temperatures helped compensate for the lack of rainfall.
The result? A balanced and expressive vintage, showcasing the resilience of Sangiovese and the power of Tuscan terroir.
