Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso
It’s a late ripening red grape variety native from Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, northeast Italy. The name “Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso” is given for its stalk, which reddens once the grapes are fully ripe. Furthermore, Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso is known to be a parent of Corvina and a grandparent of Rondinella, two famous varieties used to make one of the top wines of Italy, Amarone della Valpolicella.
Wines range in body and style but usually feature deep color and elevated acidity with red fruits, like dried cherry, herbal and floral notes.
