In 1970 Romolo e Remo planted the first vineyards of what is today, Fattoria Dezi, one of the most acclaimed wineries in the Marche region and in Italy.
The attention they devote to the needs of the land and to the respect of the balance of the vineyard and the environment, leads them to the exclusive use of organic manure to ensure better soil fertility in a sustainable way, and treatments with low environmental impact.
The location of the vineyards at 300 meters above sea level, in a hilly area exposed to the south and subjected to constant ventilation that is channeled into the Ete valley in a natural route between the Adriatric sea and the Apennines, preserves them from fungal attacks.
This microclimate allows us to minimise the use of any chemicals.
Montepulciano, Sangiovese. Marche IGT
The hallmark red grapes of Central Italy are Montepulciano and Sangiovese. Both of them produce a range of styles. They can yield soft, fruity reds great for everyday enjoyment, idiosyncratic terroir driven wines from unique sites and even dense, ageworthy expressions that deserve extended bottle age to show their best.
A range of aging vessels can be employed, ranging from neutral containers like stainless steel, concrete and amphora; as well as used toasted oak barrels of different sizes and toast levels. All yield varied results that are delicious in their own right but complement the rich cherry fruit inherent in the grape well.
