Malbec Reserve 2021 – San Telmo

The philosophy of Bodega San Telmo is to craft wines for individuals who value traditions and embrace brands with a rich history. The winery is constantly seeking varietal wines that exhibit their typical characteristics, with a fruity profile and medium body, making them friendly and ideal for sharing with friends and family.
San Telmo’s journey began in 1973, led by an Argentine entrepreneur who had a vision to produce wines in Maipú, located in the province of Mendoza, Argentina.
San Telmo holds the distinction of being the first Argentine winery to introduce varietal wines, a concept typically associated with California. After extensive work, in 1982, the varietal line was launched and continues to this day, featuring renowned varieties such as Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Chardonnay.

Malbec

Malbec is the flagship red grape variety of Argentina, known for producing bold and full-bodied wines. It is recognised for its deep, dark color and intense flavours. In the glass, Malbec displays a rich, ruby red hue. Aromas of ripe red and black fruits dominate the nose, accompanied by subtle floral and spicy notes. On the palate, it showcases flavours of berries and black pepper, supported by velvety tannins. With a balanced and elegant character, Malbec possesses a robust structure that allows for aging potential. Originated in France, it is celebrated for expressing the unique terroir of Argentina. It pairs exceptionally well with grilled and roasted meats, beef and savoury dishes. It also complements cured meats, smoked foods, and mature cheeses.
