Falerno del Massico Fabula Bianco, Why We Love It And Why You'll love it Too!
Angelo Pagano is not only an exceptional winemaker but also a true ambassador of Campania’s wine heritage. His passion is evident in every bottle, and Falerno del Massico Fabula Bianco DOP is no exception.
From the moment you see its vivid color, you know this wine has character. On the nose, it bursts with spring-like freshness, offering rich complexity. On the palate, it is fresh, slightly sweet, and impeccably balanced, with a long and persistent finish.
When paired with seafood dishes, this wine has no rivals. Grown at the foothills of the Roccamonfina volcano, it represents the pinnacle of Campania’s white wines.
Fattoria Pagano
The journey began in 2001, when Antonio Pagano, together with his son Angelo, pursued a dream: to introduce the world to Falerno del Massico. This wine descends from Falernian Wine, the legendary Roman red wine, once considered the finest of antiquity.
Fattoria Pagano is dedicated to preserving this millennia-old tradition, producing wines that embody the history and excellence of the region.
Their philosophy is simple: bring wine as close as possible to nature. This commitment translates into sustainable viticulture, respecting the soil, microclimate, and biodiversity. The result? Wines that truly express the vineyard’s essence.
For them, harvest time is a celebration—a moment of joy and tradition, deeply rooted in Campania’s culture.
Falanghina
Falanghina is one of Campania’s oldest grape varieties, dating back to Roman times. It was the base of Falernian Wine, the most prized wine of ancient Rome.
Falanghina can be found in different styles, including: Dry white wines with tropical fruit and floral aromas, Passito-style sweet wines and Sparkling with bright acidity and minerality.
There are two main Falanghina varieties:
Falanghina Beneventana (used in Falanghina del Sannio DOC) – Structured, with high acidity.
Falanghina Napoletana (found in Campi Flegrei DOC) – Lighter-bodied, crisp, and saline.
In Sannio, vineyards sit at higher altitudes, benefiting from calcareous and clay soils. Meanwhile, in Campi Flegrei, closer to sea level, the sandy volcanic soils create wines with floral and mineral-driven characteristics.
Falanghina del Massico, like this Fabula Bianco, combines the best of both styles, offering rich structure, lively acidity, and a beautifully aromatic profile.
