Etna DOC Feudo di Mezzo – Massimo Lentsch

£33.40

A red wine with a complex tannic structure, where acidity and body achieve perfect balance. Feudo di Mezzo is a wine with a deep ruby red color, offering intense aromas of ripe cherry, black pepper, and sweet liquorice on the nose. The taste is fresh and smooth, with fine, well-integrated tannins that contribute to its elegance and savoury finish. The wine ages for 15 months in oak barrels and is neither clarified nor filtered. It pairs wonderfully with roasted meats, game, aged cheeses, and hearty pasta dishes.

Etna DOC Feudo di Mezzo, Why We Love It and Why You'll Too

If you ever have the chance to visit Sicily and head up to Etna to meet Massimo, take a moment at the entrance of his winery, which he’s renovating— it’s turning into something incredible. Look to the north. At an altitude of 750 meters, in the heart of the Contrada Feudo di Mezzo, now recognised for producing some of the finest red wines on Etna, you’ll see a small clos. This is where the Etna DOC Feudo di Mezzo is born.

A magnificent red wine, perfect for special moments and for enjoying during conversations with your closest friends. Because great wines are meant to be shared.

Massimo Lentsch

Their commitment focuses on artisanal viticulture, meticulously tending to each vine to express all the nuances of a generous and complex soil. They view progress as a tool to preserve and enhance the surrounding nature, maintaining environmental and human richness.

They aim to highlight a millennia-old winemaking tradition that thrives in the extreme conditions of volcanic lands. Their vineyards are true works of art in harmony with nature. Every vine is meticulously cared for, without herbicides or chemicals. In the cellar, only indigenous yeasts are used, and the wine is not clarified, preserving the fruit’s original qualities.

All Massimo Lentsch wines follow organic and vegan protocols, but beyond certifications, the true commitment is to protect the environment and the people living within it. This is the genuine way to respect the land that hosts them.

“I want to convey feelings through wine, those that sometimes cannot be expressed in words.”
